Arbitrators

FreightDisputes exclusively uses Arbitrators who are willing to use their industry experience to arbitrate disputes between parties.  If, having read the following, you are interested in becoming an Arbitrator, kindly read the "Duties of an Arbitrator" and then proceed to Become an Arbitrator Application Form

Arbitrators are independent contractors who do not act for FreightDisputes in any capacity other than acting as Arbitrators as assigned based on their prior experience and industry knowledge.

Arbitrators need not have legal backgrounds as the majority of disputes do not require such - rather Arbitrators need to have gained relevant industry experience and the ability to use common sense, be fair and clear-sighted.  A complete fluency in written English is also required.

Arbitrations take place on-line via the Internet and therefore there are no travel requirements.

Only the locations, job titles and years of experience of the Arbitrator shall be made available to the disputing parties.  This ensures that the Arbitration process is 100% free of any bias.  Further, for every party's benefit, all of our communication will be via email using the FreightDisputes email server which is not only more convenient but further protects the confidentiality of the Arbitrators.

FreightDisputes will require that Arbitrators selected for disputes acknowledge that they have no vested interests in the outcome and that there are no conflicts of interests.  Arbitrators will not be selected to if they are based on the same country as either of the parties involved.  We also ask Arbitrators to recluse themselves if they have had any prior business or social dealings with either disputing party.

Arbitrators will be paid USD 200.00 for each arbitration payable upon presentation of their Decisions.

In submitting to Arbitration both parties will have agrees that the Arbitrator(s) shall not be subpoenaed by either party in any subsequent legal proceeding.  Further, that they shall not hold Arbitrators liable for any act or omission in connection with any Arbitration.
